RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE GEOTECHNICAL PROPERTIES OF A RESIDUAL SOIL AND ITS SURFACE ERODIBILITY
Resumen
The erodibility of soil represents the susceptibility of its particles to detachment, entrainment, and transport by natural agents such as water or wind, as well as by anthropogenic influences that can lead to degradation. To investigate this behavior, several techniques have been developed to quantify the material response to erosive processes. Among these, the surface erodibility test using the Inderbitzen test serves as a direct measurement method that simulates hydric erosion process at a laboratory scale. The execution of multiple tests correlating various parameters with erodibility has supported the validation of the behavior observed in the Inderbitzen test, emphasizing that soil chemistry, microstructural arrangement, and suction are key factors influencing the soil¿s response to surface hydric processes.
