The Universidad Nacional de Colombia has 9 campuses nationwide, currently La Paz Campus, created in 2019, is the most recent headquarters. This headquarters, located in the northern region of Colombia, in the department of Cesar, has the purpose of forming young people from regions with low economic resources and that have been affected by the armed conflict in Colombia. In this context, there is a pressing need to provide low-income students immersed in academic programs such as mechatronic engineering, biological engineering and biology, the opportunity to explore high-tech centers and leading research institutions in Germany. These young people, who face significant challenges in their environment, represent a talented group whose potential is often underestimated due to the adverse circumstances surrounding their education. The proposal to carry out this academic-cultural visit to leading centers in engineering, biology and biomedical sciences in Germany is based on the conviction that direct exposure to cutting-edge scientific environments can be a transformative catalyst in their academic and professional trajectories. |
