Development of new and effective methods to synthetize alpha-chiral amines through the usage of a native enzyme such as Lysine 5,6-aminomutase (LAM). Modifications of the enzyme to expand the substrate scope could be achieved through rational design and directed evolution, ultimately allowing for an effective and sustainable pathway to produce alpha-chiral amines.
