TRAJECTORIES OF SOCIO-ECOLOGICAL SYSTEMS: A CASE STUDY IN THE TROPICAL ANDES.
Resumen
Designing land-use strategies for sustainable management for socio-ecological systems (SES) within a territory requires a holistic analysis. The assessment of the implications of diverse land use strategies and the associated ecosystem services has become a crucial need in territorial planning. Scenario and policy options assessment have been applied to various socio-economic and environmental studies, but their application still faces significant challenges. First, limited studies analyze the impact of different scenarios with integrated approaches. Second, the studies that quantify and analyze ES and SES use a static approach. Third, most of the research includes one driver of change. This study analyzes the dynamics of a SES when implementing different land-use related policies and under scenarios using a simulation model in system dynamics to contribute to the challenges identified. The model developed for a strategic basin in Colombian Andes (Riogrande basin, Colombia) simulates
