The aim of this research is the study of sediments pollution condition in Khajeh Kory river bed which passes from southern border of the Caspian sea in Astara City. In order to determine the pollution of river bed sediments along the route, from the source in the heights to river estuary in the Caspian sea, the sampling has been done in 10 stations. Afterward, each sample was divided into two parts larger and smaller than 63 micron. The concentration of heavy metals Cu, Cd, Co, Zn, Pb, Ni, Fe, Mn in each part has been measured making use of ICP-OES method. In the next stage, enriching samples determined by normalizing through aluminum. Then in order to interpolate data, usual Kriging method was used and various models including: spherical, circular, exponential, Gaussian were fitted on data and the best data has been selected by Cross Validation method. Making use of obtained enrichment outcomes, the information layer produced for each member in GIS environment utilizing Kriging method. Aggregating layers, the new layers were created and the created layers classified into 4 layers again. Using this method, the length of the river from heights to the sea estuary has been recognized based on the contamination of the zoning heavy metals, contaminated and unpolluted areas in river sediments. Each natural and manmade pollution has been revealed in this area. |
