Veterinarian with experience in both in situ and ex situ wildlife teaching, research, and management. Skilled in wildlife handling, conservation, production, and sustainable use programs. I have a strong background in interdisciplinary fieldwork and wildlife consulting for government institutions and NGOs. I am the founder of the Terrestrial Arthropod Research Center (CINAT) and its spin-off company, EntoPro, at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (UNAL). Currently, working as an Associate Professor and coordinator of the Insects for Peace initiative, which promotes social transformation and sustainability in agrifood systems through insects. Additionally, part of the diplomatic scientists group at UNAL, collaborating on international cooperation, while also coordinating the Insect Network within the Latin American Association of Animal Production (ALPA). My expertise lies in integrating broad approaches like bioeconomy, wildlife management, Ecosystem Services, and One Health into sustainable strategies, with a focus on insects in agrifood systems. I develop integral strategies that bring together multiple disciplines and interdisciplinary collaboration to address global sustainability challenges. With extensive experience in the Global South and through international collaborations, I´m constantly exploring opportunities to apply my knowledge in global research projects and interdisciplinary initiatives that deliver impactful, innovative, and transformative solutions.
