Structural modeling and block kriging of rare earth elements (REE) in the Antioquia department in Colombia using Python programming
Resumen
The objective of this study is to perform the variography of the grades of Cerium, Lanthanum, Neodymium and Praseodymium by programming with Python to identify by the Inverse Squared Distance (ISD) and Block Kriging (BK) methods the areas of high grade, which will be potential for the development of REE's mining value chain in the Antioquia department, Colombia. The data used belong to the project "Geochemical Map of the Antioquia department" of the Faculty of Mines of the National University of Colombia, which were taken in fine stream sediments on a 30 km x 20 km mesh, where 464 samples were used, produced 101 composites for geochemical analysis at the Institute of Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration of Beijing, Republic of China. The results obtained indicate that the REE analyzed in this study show a significant geostatistical importance in Nordeste and Bajo Cauca subregions of Antioquia, affirming the possibility of continuing with the stages of the mining value chain, mainly
