ECOSYSTEM FOR SUSTAINABLE FISHING NAVIGATION IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF GUAPI, CAUCA
Resumen
This project proposes the design and implementation of a sustainable model associated to the artisanal fishing value chain in Guapi, which includes the design of both a hybrid vessel and the value chain and socio-business management model. The propulsion system of the boat is proposed by using renewable energy sources with the aim of improving the profitability of the fishing business and reducing the environmental impact generated by the current fossil fuel system, and the implementation of a telecommunication system to improve safety during the deep sea fishing journeys. In parallel, it is equally important in this proposal to generate empowerment strategies of the participating artisanal fishermen organizations with respect to the model and management of the fishing business, developing a mindset of self-efficacy and productive entrepreneurship in the local community. The project will make use of open innovation strategies to create an innovative model of cooperation and co-creation between the community (fishing associations of Guapi), local and regional authorities and the universities: Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Colombia), Universidad del Cauca (Colombia), KTH (Sweden) and Lund (Sweden). The proposal has been written from a co-creation workshop with three organizations of artisanal fishermen from the municipality of Guapi (province of Cauca, Colombia) last September and it will be developed under the same methodology in all its phases.
